Tour buddy is coming out with a tank kit for the fusions, sometime in late November, no pictures yet I just hope it looks better than the RMK IQ one they made.I like the idea but I don't like it looks that big black box is bolted to my tunnel :beerchug:
StevieWonder
Just talked to chris from tour buddy, 2.5 gallon tank and better looking than the rmk tank, looking good

Where can I buy a Touring Buddy for my 600HO?
I tried to access thier web site but couldn't get connected.
StevieWonder
The site is tourbuddy.com or call chris at 1 888 244 1112, I tried mine out last Friday, got 60 km(40mi) before it started to work off the main tank  .This is a must have, now I'm not saying I'll get that distance all the time, the trails were rough and at times it was a slow go, but we were playing in some fields and drift lines. :beerchug:

Got any pics?

Okay - I will be the first to say it - YUK!! That does not look good.

I would consider it adding insult to injury. The original injury is that the Fusions should get good enough gas mileage to not need this. But, because Polaris cannot get these things dialed in - you have to resort to this.
DeerHuntr
Wow1.gif I agree, looks like chit, wish they put a 12 gallon tank on like they used to and I wish we could get milage in the low teens, would be nice
PolarisBum
Looks too boxy. They should have rounded out the edges. Looks like it belongs on one of those old VW Things!

ditto i think it's bs you should have to give up premium storage space just to make it to the next gas stop !!! my sled is a 2005! for crist sakes it should get better than 6 mpg even when ridden hard, yea, yea i know i'm just pissed because my season is over(see broken wrist) but i have tried to be overly positive about this 10,000 $ machine ,some may not like it ,but it's time to tell it like it is!! ....aahhh i feel better already !!! :banghead:
PolarisBum
I remember talking ot one of the Polaris reps at the one 2005 Sneak Peak show. We voiced concerns to him that the tank is too small. He swore up and down that the mileage is great and you don't need the two extra gallons. RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRight !

Some of the guys at the shows don't know too much. I think most are PR guys trying to act like engineers or local dealers that were just briefed minutes before the show.

Opinions are like assholes ,deal with it, it actually looks good in real life as it fills in the back space under the seat. And to be honest knowing you( red rocket) don't like it makes me like more :bigfinger:
fusion900
Just my opinion, but I would never install that tank on my Fusion.

Hey Simple Steve:

Get over the little "Can" thread already. I guess people are only allowed their opinion if it agrees with you!

I am glad you are happy with it!

Merry Christmas!!

Finally connected to touring buddy. Talked to the sales rep and ordered one. They're sold out and the next shipment will arrive January 2nd. I like the extra insurance of not running out of gas.
I agree it doesn't look the best but......Maybe I'm jumping the gun and it'll be better than 10. We'll find out, but I'll still have over a 13 gallon capacity with the touring buddy for the long runs.
StevieWonder
I agree it's not the best looking but it's not bad once installed, the extra milage is worth it. To say that I'm installing it to fix a polaris issue is a stretch, there's tour buddy's for all makes and models.Anyone who's made the run to Shining Tree knows what I'm talking about :beerchug:

To Shining Tree from where Steve? I ran ran down to Shining Tree from Timmins last winter. I made it easy. Whole 2 liters to spare....lol
StevieWonder
Yeah should have said that  Did the run from the sportsman with my xc8 few years ago was suckin fumes ,guy had a tourbud just kept laughing , now mind you I was real hard on throttle with that sled. But I started thinking carrying extra fuel might not be a bad thing :beerchug:
whitkid22
guys has anyone thought of the danger of carrying fuel behind you? dunno.gif
Seriously...
PolarisBum
Wow - good point ! I'd hate to be rear-ended on the trail and have some fuel spill out onto the guy's exhaust pipe! Caboom !!!!!!!!!!!!
bstuart
Does it pipe into your tank so it is more or less permanent? Or do you take it off to add those two gallons to your tank when needed?

If it can come on and off for use only on the long rides... I am calling and booking one from the next shipment.
PolarisBum
It's permanent. You have to take the seat off and all to install it initially. I'm sure you could get creative and rig something to make it temporary but it hooks into your venting for the stock fuel tank and it would prob be a real pain to figure out. In the past they have made them where they install under the hood, undetected, but there's no room under there on a Fusion!

I'm glad they came out with one but it takes up all the space in the back there. I bought a rear cargo rack for our touring vacation and you can't have both the rack and the tank on at the same time. The rack though is quickly removable. Polaris put some thought into that one !

I have the semi rigid saddlebags that I strap on for the long trips...
Will those be in the way???
PolarisBum
I think those will be fine. I have the soft ones that strap on and I think they use the same area and would be fine. I was talked about the actual hard-rack that Polaris makes.
PolarisBum
actually that pic is the one they show on their website and catalog - here's the one they ship....
