I have an 02 600 xcsp and would like to know what your suggestions would be for a good gear setup. My rideing is usually on agressive trails, and ditch riding. It's pretty much stock with a few added in parts and is clutched.
Thanks for the help!

Yes, 10-62 gears is the ulimate set up ! TAKES SOME MAJOR CHAINCASE MODS THOUGH ... :frech32:
(But I like 25/42 or 24/42 better with a 76 chain in the Edge chaincase.)

Thanks guys! I don't want to mod. the chaincase so the 24 - 42 may be the ticket. My current chain is stetched bad so good time for a change. Not really concerned with top end but what is the bottom line with this gearing change. :beerchug:

The simple change on the xc 6 is to go 23/40. You can use the stock chain, and just shave a touch off the back of the tensioner. This is only one tooth lower gearing than stock(23/39), and max's the number of teeth that a 74p chain can handle. Doing the math, 24/42 is slightly lower yet, but will cost you a lot more $

21/40 or 21/41, use your stock chain(74link) a ton of gear = blinding fast corner to corner. top speed with this gear ration will still be in the mid 90's. You will need a good track to hook that much TQ ! . In my opinion if your not going to change the gearing more then .20 then why do it? I went from 1.64 to 1.71 and I will be going to 1.87 this year. the first change wasnt a huge jump.
