Anyone come from a ZR 900? I have ran a few Mach Z's, and have lost the Majority of the time. Although my sled is not stock, and I don't expect to win too many races, my real question is how it handles. I prefer the ride of my Zr over my firecat, but wan't to try the best of another brand. I mostly ride groomed trails in the morning, then crap at night. Thanks in advance.

Just remember the ZR is a ditch sled...so try an X mach-Z if you can...and try the Apex out too, what the hell right?

I rode one Mach Z last year, and It was not clutched right, and I only rode it on a lake. I do want to try an Apex this year. The last RX-1 I rode was an 04, and I thought the suspension was Crappy. Cat has been pissing me off since they quit making triples, and although I realize th twins are better, I still am craving for a 200hp sled that handles great, is dependable, and is around 510# or less.

The Mach is probably the fastest sled on the snow right now and if that is your priority then that is the one to get. Get the 'X' package and don't mess around with the standard one.... better yet - get the Renegade version. Also, if it wasn't for the Apex, it would be the heaviest muscle sled.

The ZR9 is lighter and a much better sled in the trail crap than the standard Mach Z.

There is still no "200hp sled that handles great, is dependable, and is around 510# or less." unless you build it.

Yes yes!!! Renegade X 1000 with the 1.7 track ! Hello holeshot !!!

Maybee I am a little optimistic. My old big bores ranged from Hooper, to D&D to PSI and I really never had too much trouble, other than them handling like shit. My ZR has about 170 HP, and I am pretty happy, but it just ain't like the old Big Bores. I know I can build to go faster, but I don't really want to wrench that much now that I have a Family. I am starting to sound like a bitch. I think the first Mach Z with the X package, he better not stop, cause I am going to bug him til he lets me ride it. Thanks. Ray.

 GET THE Z!!!!!!!!!!!!

The renegade 1000 would be a lot better on the trails, and it still will kick butt on the lakes. I do not know it its true but I have heard the renegade is faster than the mach.

Turtle, I've owned an 03 ZR9 and it was in the same range of HP that yours is. I also own an 05 Mach Z and I can tell you this. My Mach Z in proper tune is as fast as the ZR with all the mods installed. The Mach gets better fuel mileage and is smoother than the ZR in the trail. The Mach is also very quiet compared to the twin piped ZR. As long as we're talking groomed trails, the Mach is the better trail sled. I wouldn't take the Mach out and bang through the rough stuff, your teeth might fall out! I also own an F7 and I like that better than the ZR. The real beauty of the Z is it's potential for performance. Bolt on exhaust and clutching make it the absolute fastest stock motor trail sled on the planet for the dollar! Good Luck.

Dan, what did you paint the side panels with? That looks sweet. My Apex-GT might need some of that. Doug

I agree, the mach isnt a machine that you take out and start taking it off jumps, and so one, its main purpoise(<-Spelling) is for the lakes. And most people buy thme because they think they can be the fastest person on the trail were they don't handle very handle very good in the tight spots.

Don't tell that to my Mach-z because it thinks it's a trail blaster,
We drive fast and if need be there's not a sled I can't hang with in the tight trails.....OH and did I mention that I am a little on the mentel side!!!

Point being, you can put a good driver on a bad sled and still run circles around 90% of the people on the trails.

Alittle more Hp's just makes it easier.

I rode my brothers mach today , very very impressed. It handled very well the power is unreal , people have no clue how powerful this machine really is.
