Which one is the better buy? I am thinking about buying a digital one because all I have now is a 35m one and I was just wondering if you guys had any input on which one I should buy and why. I read up a little on both of them but am still on the fence about it. :help:

Cuddeback is faster trigger time (.6 secs) You should never have a blank picture. It is $100 more and it does NOT have a lcd screen to view pictures in the field.
The new Leaf River (as of July) is about a 2 second trigger time. The one I bought in June has a 6 second trigger. I get lots of blank pictures. It does take excellent pictures and I like looking at them in the field on the LCD screen.
I think the 2 second trigger time on the new leaf river cam should make it MUCH better. I think that's the way I would go. Save $100. 2 second trigger should even catch a deer walking past the camera. Make sure you don't buy an older model Leaf river off Ebay with the slower trigger time.

I bought a cuddeback the first year they were out. I have gotten alot of nice pictures, and it works good 60-70% of the time, but the other 30-40% of the time I really really want to smash it over a rock.

I think many of the original (1.3MP) Cuddebacks had problems. I had a co-worker that went through 4 of them on warranty. The new one is, from what I've heard, much more reliable. My co-worker buddy is still on his first one

I have had a cuddle back for the past two years and its awesome. Only downside is not having a lcd but it stores tons of pictures and takes pretty decent pictures as well.

thanks for the input. About how long do both of them last as far as battery life?

My Leaf River camera has been in the woods since August and still has the original batteries. I think the new Leaf River with the shorter trigger time has a battery life of 1-2 months....similar to the Cuddeback.
