Are the Lakes frozen over up that far North yet?

or is it still to early in the season.
Planing a trip up on the 25th of Nov.

We were up there last year thanksgiving and they were not frozen, I don't believe they are yet this year.
We will be up there 24-27th this year

Thanks for the info.
Everyone is saying they have quite a bit of snow up there right now? but looking at the HCS home page with the map of snow cover it looks like about 7 1/2"
I hope they get a lot more soon.

Probably like most areas early in the season....its the more isolated higher elevations that get the snow. Heck...We were up there in January last season, and while there was still enough snow...it definetly wasn't like other times we have been there. Getting around the lower part of Lac St Jean was somewhat interesting also.

Do you think the snow cover could be good the 2nd or 3rd week in December??

Simon Fortin from" La Chapelle" in Mt Valins confirms yesterday on the CMIQ French forum 18" snow at the km 25 (La Chappel) and 6" at the Valinouet ski center. No grooming yet but soon!

just got back, tons of snow, they are grooming some, but the lakes are just starting to freeze over. not safe to travel on yet. soon though
