Hey guys:
My Father still has the old Polaris Colt 175 - 1973 I think. This was the first sled I ever rode (I was 6). Dad used to have a small part time Polaris dealership out of the garage back in the early 1970s. Now this thing has been sitting in the shed for 20 years and would need some serious work. I know it needs a hood for sure - it's last day out was a bad one. Obviously I am sure it will require some engine work, points and I have no idea how the track would have held up (sitting on concrete floor at least).
He has recently learned that we are going to make him a Grandfather and we have joked around that we need to restore the old Colt so that he/she can ride it.
Anyway - any guidance you could provide on the parts availability would be great. He is a retired autobody repairman so I think we can handle most issues - just would want to make sure that we can get the parts that we would need.
Any help is appreciated.
