I am hoping some of you that live in the central part of the state can help us out. My wife and I are planning to do some day trips this year further North and are looking for good places to ride and places to park our truck w/trailer.

I've checked out the state trail map and a NHSA Parking list at the following site:

NHSA Parking List

These are good resources, . . . but I found the map to be outdated (some 'P' areas no longer exist I am finding out) and the NHSA site shows a fairly small number of spots in this area. I also know it is missing some good 'P' areas (the one in our town for instance at Silver Lake State Park).

So, . . . we would like to stay within 1 1/2 hours of the Nashua area and be close to 93 and/or 89. If you know of parking areas near these highways in the central NH area, we would love to hear from you.

Towns of interest include (but are not limited to);

89 Corridor between Bow/Hopkinton/Werner/Sutton

93 Corridor between Suncook/Concord/Boscawen/Franklin

I've searched the websites of many of the clubs in these areas (those that have websites) - and have contacted many of them directly. Parking is not routinely listed. I did have good luck with the Canterbury club with available parking at their clubhouse. But, . . . I know there must be other places to park trailers in these areas with trail access that are not 'official' but are perfectly acceptable and legal.

Thanks in advance!! :fluffy: :fluffy:

I'll tell you if you come and help with a trail project in Bow this weekend.

Check your PM

Thanks for the info! I replied via PM as well.

BTW - nice looking new groomer on the front page of the BOW club website!

I sent you more info.

Thanks! Now we need some snow.

We now have two. One is like a 1977 and she does a good job. We had great riding last year and I'm hoping this year will be better.

White Lake State Park is about 2 hours from Hollis. From there you can ride north to Conway / Gorham or south into Wakefield / New Durham / Wolfeboro..or west towards Wonalancet and Plymouth....From WLSP I can ride 200 miles in a loop in 7-8 hours. Dozens of gas stations and eaterys. You can access Ossipee Lake, White Lake, Silver Lake, Province lake, Pine River Pond, Lake Wentworth, Lake Winnie, and a dozen other smaller ponds. You can access the fire tower in Wonalancet, and the top of Mt. Shaw among other spectacular views.
WLSP is on RT 16 in Tamworth NH. The local club is The OVSC, and the state grooms Corridor 19.

Please come just once. I believe you will love it. Lemme know and I may be able to be a guide. I like to organize 4-8 sled HCS rides every now and then. :beerchug:

It is ok - but not great. How ever - it is getting better every year. There are many trails that go through the Hollis Town Forest. Only take about a 1/2 day to travel all of those. There is now a connecting trail to get over to Brookline, NH. There are a few tough spots there. But once over in Brookline, things open up a bit for you and you can tour a lot around Brookline/Milford/Wilton etc.

So, . . . if using Silver Lake State Park as a starting point, . . . it is not a bad place to start. Last year, we notice a lot of trailers parked there on weekends. The Brookline club has a trail map for their town on their website, . . . the Hollis club does not yet have an online map. The trails are well marked though.

Hope this helps!!!
