I am looking at a 03 Rev 800. I was wondering if they had any first year problems or recalls I should be aware of???

I have a 600 and ths is my findings
Guages FOG (there is a Dealer TSB fix by putting Silica Gell in side the guage)
Beavertail pain in the ass (I suggest cutting the flap untill such time as you can instal a tunnel mod.)
Other then that have fun because they are the greeatest sleds you could ever own.

I can live with those types of problems.
Thanks.

small problems outweighed big time by the fun factor on this sled. absolutely top notch for a first year sled..

the only thing i dont like is the fuel guage does not read rite. ihave thought about a rlectric guage but dont want to spend the money. the beaver tail is a pain with rev but i cut the snow flap down this year and im hoping it helps. im really thinking hard about a converting to a hard tail convertion.

:augen41: Make sure the crank seal has been updated. I have done many of them.

At some point you will most likely need at least piston rings if not pistons too. I'm doing mine right now and it only has 2500 miles on it. Get a leakdown test gauge and check it before you buy. Check the carb boots too since I've heard people are having issues with them also.
