Im putting a 136x2" track on my prox and every one ive told is saying that 2" is to much and that its going to do more harm than good. I think its all bullsh*t but what have you all got to say?
n2oiroc
the only problem will be hifax lube on hardpack. ice scratchers will fix that. if you want to run studs, i think a studded 1.75" will fit under there.

i was thinking 1.875 studs......and ice scratchers dont do shit ive had em before

In you signature it says you ride Hatchers and Eureka. I believe "2" is the perfect track for 85% of Alaskan riding. I think it depends on you riding style and terrain. I have a "2" on my RMK and I have only torn off 2 lugs in 3000 miles.
HYFLYR
I put a 2" on every sled i own. short tracks, longtracks, doesnt matter. If you ride in AK just about 80% of the riding you willl need a 2" lug. Unless you run groomed trails but if you wanted to do that, move to wisconsin.

I dont know where you are getting this horrible information from, a 2" is too much and does more harm than good? Its an 800 with a pipe riding near sea level, that thing will turn that track like it weighed a a pound. Rock the 2" and show whoever keeps telling you these things whats up. ooh4.gif

Oh, by the way i dont even run boggie wheels on any of my sleds or scratches either, but then again i never ride trails.
polarispunk
funny you should mention not running wheels, i think there useless too. every time ive changed hyfax the only place where its not worn out is the 1 inch long spot right where the wheel hits.....so whats the point???
HYFLYR
If yo uride trails the boggies are good for keeping pressure off the rails where the tourque arms meet the rails, this eliminates a little hyfax wear. If you dont ride trails they are basically extra weight that in my opinion isnt needed. The last 4 sleds i have owned, (one a year) i take the wheels off and at the end of the year the slides look just like they did when i took them off. Im my opinion, ditch the bitches.
