You know if you keep talking such a BIG game, you might embarrass yourself if we ever meet in the mountains. :smilielol:
HYFLYR
Take it easy guys, he's young. He will learn eventually. :frech32:
polarispunk
shit, let the kid talk all the smack he wants at least hes got a machine thatt might live up to it, when i was 16 all i had was a POS yamaha 500 :beerchug:
HYFLYR
Anyway, if it was me, and i had a new to me sled, i would drive anywhere to find snow.
No Fear
is hatchers even open yet?
No Fear
and if it is, Is the Wasilla side open
03FirecatF5SP
NO......it's not legally open yet. Either is Turnagin but people have been riding at both places
No Fear
and they havent got caught...? Last year i took my sled to hatchers before it was open, and they were on me in like 30 minutes
powderhound
The Willow side of Hatchers is open, it is not a state park. They have a gate at the tee where it indicates the left being open and the right is closed. People are riding Turnagain??? How much snow do they have at the parking lot?
Hatchers is pretty wasted now with everyone riding up there. They havent got anymore snow in a week and the "18" inches they have is trashed. Enter at your own risk. its pretty shady....... here is a helmet cam video of it from a few days ago :beerchug:

Come on up!!! I havent had a good laugh in a while!!!

P.S. you better bring a shovel, you will need it when you end up at the bottom of a 80ft. ravine. cocky attitudes like yours gets you killed in avy's in H.P. so leave that shit in Homer!!!
arctic-cat-kid
dude me and powder hound always joke around and if you want a good laugh go look at the sled your riding

Look here you little bitch, just because your dad bought you an f7 dosnt make you some kind of bad ass rider, I can vouch for how good a rider powderhound is and he can do the same for me. It doesnt matter wheather you are joking, if you are looking to make some friends and wanting to come to hatchers drop the shit talking you have no evidence of your skill, just a big mouth. I don't take that shit lightly. Hatchers is becoming overcrowded w/ little punks like you that have no buisiness being there, they just think they do beacause they have a nice sled. Look at your sled, is that sled you? From what I hear you bought it like that so you are just riding someone elses shit. When you you build a sled w/ your own money and your own ideas then maybe you might have some ground to stand on.
Hatchers is open to anyone, but you have to have respect for those who have been riding sleds/snowboards in H.P. ther whole lives it is a part of me and powderhound, and we dont stand for dis-respect.
arctic-cat-kid
your blowing this whole thing outa proporstion and as for my "skillz" im not saying im better or worst then any one i consider my self good from what i have done and how many milesive road. I lived out in the bush ware theres more snowmachines then car or trucks. I put alot of miles on a sled thats why i think im good. As for disrespectiing powderhound theres no doubt in my mind hes good and im not dissing on the locals that ride around H.P and not really dissing on any one to tell you the truth.
DITCHJOCKEY
Hey were all Alaskans no need to get riled up over nothing. Dont want to pick a side here and there's no need to. The facts present themself.
No Fear
So the willow side of hatchers is open.....that sweet...about how long of a trip is willow from wasilla? and does anyone no if they have got any fresh snow in last couple days.....
Ak4life
Yes the willow side of hatchers is open I have ridden it 3 times already this year, I was just up there on sunday, as far as new snow the mountains look like they got a dusting on tuesday but nothing significant. Its ridable but its pretty hairy. I have already put a nice arc in one of my trailing arms and snapped my lower radius rod up there this year. but what are ya gonna do?not ride!!! here is pict from sunday. What you have to do is go to willow, about a 1.5 miles past the texaco station on the right is willow fishook take a r and follow for about 25mi. to a part of the road where there is a gravel pit on both side unload there and head up the road on sleds for another 10 or so mi. past the lucky shot mine and there it be!!!!
polarispunk
yeah i dont know. ive los to many trailing arms in the place over the years to want to take my new toy out and break it on hte first ride......that would be devistating to my ego :banghead:
HYFLYR
But you have to "break" it in right?
MYTOYS
You all are E-Thugging it, knock it off! :no_bashing:

I forget what the site is, but where can I look online to find out when areas are open for riding and if there are snow reports?

Thanks all!

Can't wait to get out this season and play with the new toy. Now I just need to find more girls to go with me

its already been "broke in" there were a few things worng that my bro didnt catch . like the 5 inch crack in the tub, from a belt breaking i guess. had to patch that up so i didnt get powder on the clutches, oh well its not new but it'll do
HYFLYR
I know it was already broke in i just wanted to give ya a hard time.
Rokmonanoff
I haven't actually been UP to Hatcher's since the snow hit, but with a couple of days of sunlight in a row, you can see the brown again. To me, that's not enough snow. The base should be there for when we get another dumping of fluff, but that hasn't happened yet.
HYFLYR
Sweet pics bud!
arctic-cat-kid
YEA dude told you i would come through i would put more but it aint letting me
joe231
Hey artic-cat-kid, where did you take those pics...pretty sweet
03FirecatF5SP
He took them up in the Caribou Hills on the Kenai Peninsula. it's were I do 90% of my riding

Hey, thank you for the link.
DITCHJOCKEY
nice sceanery. Did you guys trailer or ride from home?
jTc
yea, Nice pics. What was the deepest snow you found?
arctic-cat-kid
we trailerd for about 30 minutes got dropped off at a russian village and took off into the caribou hillz above anchor point. It was pretty sweet no dirt spots everything is coverd on average the snow was 6 to 10 inches deep on the hill sides and wind drifted spots it was 2 or 3 feet. Really fun nice to get out and ride a lil bumpy through the muskages but besides that it was pretty sweet
