well i got the sled so now i need to put a longer track on it, and get this.....the dealer wants $1300 to put a 136" track on it! that in cludes a 136x2inch paddle track, new rails and a tunnel extention. Im going to call santa's sled shop tomarow and ask how much he wants to do it all and put a 144 on it since 144's are the only tracks he has right now. so i guess the question is how smart do yall think it is to put a 144 on a prox2???

it would be like having a RMK with high gearing pretty much i dont think there is much difference on the engines besides clutchin gearin kinda stuff i would go with the 136 personally just because its different i meen its not super long you can still jump and still have good mobillaty in the powder i have a 128 with a 1.7 in lug and have NO problem going around the hillz and i can hit the trails hall some ass or bust off into a big ass powder feild carve the shit outa it

Why not just do it yourself and don't have to pay a "mechanic" to do it, you'll save that much. Takes about an hour and half at most to swap out a track, just need rail and tunnel extensions which can take another hour and a half or 2. Would also have to gear down a bit if the previous owner didn't already. I'm debating longer on mine also, maybe later this winter. Got a 1.25"x144", brand new, don't know if I'll use it. Might end up going 136".

you really think gearing it down is nessesary for going to a 136?? I consider doing it myslef but its such a hassle. In my opinion changing a track is prolly the most pain in tha ass thing you can do to a sled.

Changing the gearing isnt really that big of a deal escpecially with that sled, it was meant for more corner to corner speed not top end. I would never take my sled to a dealer to get a track changed, waste of money and time. By ther time it takes you to load up a sled and take it to the dealer and then pick it back up you could have it changed and it wouldnt cost a thing. 1300 seems a bit steep for changing it over but if its worth not having to do it yourself and just having it done and ready thats up to you, i would personally do it myself, leaves more money in the wallet for other goodies for the sled.
