I have posted this in the litter box also, but would like to here if anyone else has seen this.

I have a 2002 ZL 800 SS With 2000 miles on it . On Sunday I was looking at the track to see about studing it and noticed that on every other rib there is speration happening. Now let me say that there is no other marks, holes or torn lugs or anything on this track. I am very carefull and it show. What it looks like is in the center between the ribs on the flat area you can see where the black rubber is seperating and you can see 3-4 white cords going from one side of the track to the other. I am not talking abut threads showing on the ends. :banghead: Has any one else seen this?

The track is not to tight that is for sure I have been riding for over 25 years and I do all my own work (except warenty). I have a close freind that is a Cat dealer who stoped by sunday on his why to his shop. He said to take some pictures and he will try to get it replaced. He has not seen this before. Cat has a list of why they will replace a track, one of then is delamenation. I don't know if this would be fit into this catagory.

is this the nipple track? my 02 zl-500 had only 80 miles on it when i noticed the lugs were wearing on their edges my cat dealer said it was from 2things no studs to support the lugs and not enough snow meaning the compound of the track was too soft for low snow conditions i even called camoplast (tracks usa. )and he said the same thing well now the sledd has 1100 miles and it has not gotten any worse but no one would listen to me (all my fault for riding in low snow when new??)youre lucky youre dealer is listening to you ,good luck

If there is a repeat pattern it could be a defect. Plus your the only one who really knows if you cooked the track or not.
