The next time your clipping down the trail with "the flipper pinned" and the trees are clipping by. Just ask yourself this...How would it feel to just run into that last tree on foot? Then give your speedo a look... Slows me down every time. Nothing wrong with gettin after it every now and then, but for godsake use your head.

another thing i do is when i start riding at the edge i start thinking of my kids and that usually slows me down

Its all about riding only as fast as the conditions and your riding abilities will allow. If its a wide-open stretch, theres nothing wrong with pinning the throttle.
I look at it this way: I ride as fast as I can (while still keeping it relatively safe) because you never know what day might be your last. Should I get killed in a snowmobiling accident, so be it. At least that way I go out doing something that I love.

Never exceed 80% of your driving ability, that way when you get in trouble theres something left ,so you can try to recover!!

Yeah, I do the same thing...When I'm on the edge, I think of reason why I married my ex-wife...Then, I gun the throttle and head directly for the first tree I can find!!!!
