I've had my D70 for a few years now, and love it. Bought it with the kit lens, the 18-70mm, great lens. Picked up a 70-300mm, this one focuses kinda slow and hunts for focus to often. Then bought the 50mm f/1.8, that was the best $100 I ever spent, super fast focus, sharp, great colors, small and light weight its a great lens. Then picked up the 28-200mm, makes a good walk around lens. And just got a 85mm f/1.8, its a lot like the 50mm but better for head shots.

Cameras are as bad as sleds, always looking for a new toy. Heard it's called "lens lust" which sounds about right. LOL

I'll try to answer any questions you guys have.

I have one as well with the 18-70 kit lens, the 70-300 ED lens and a 105 macro lens. The focus on mine seems fine. Fast and doesn't hunt. Nice Camera. :div20:

Yeah, the ED should do a good job. I was a green horn when I bought the 70-300mm f/4-5.6G AF and thought I was stealing the lens @ $75. I should have spent more on a decent piece of glass like the ED, but.... I didnt.

The G lens does ok if there is plenty of light and lots of edges to focus on, but beyond that it struggles.
