well, the nat. forest is not allowing us to do ANY trail work , to get ready for the comming season
seems some yahoo got hurt in the nat forest in californa, and sued them
and now they dont want anyone working on there proporty, for fear of getting sued :frech32: :frech32: :frech32: :frech32:
if something does not change in the next few weeks, the trail like the woodford area wont be ready to ride come dec. 15th
not only that, but they are not allowing any snomo tours either!!!

That explains why I saw no signs up in the IP-Canaan area while up there yesterday. BTW, did I mention it was snowing?

My buddies were awarded a Fed. Gov contract to bush hog and make a new trail to a viewing spot near the island pond area. I know thats not near Woodford, but it seems U.S Gov. rather pay a contractor and lesson the liabilty, than have a volunteer get serous injury. They've been working out there for a couple of weeks with a bunch of heavy equipment. Brigton snowmobile club should be out this coming weekend. Where, when or what were gonna do is up to the club.

I was wondering about all the brush hogging up there. They did all the roads in the federal areas.

From what he tells me there first priority was to get the trails cleared to the area where the new trail will be. Then brought in 2 escavators to make the trail. How much did they actually due, won't know until next saturday. He said "its going to be a dead end trail, but at the end will be a really nice view." Sounds like a nice place to go and take a break.

Scotts Construction? if it's lewis pond, its a federal job, widening the road headed out there and doing an overlook at the gravel pit near the top of the mountain. Silvio O. Conte National Wildlife Refuge.
