Incident 1 – A few weeks ago, my dad and I rode Woodford. We left out of the Twin Brooks parking lot. I figured I would park there, because for the $5, it would be a good idea to have someone in the parking lot watching trucks/trailers, and simply keeping an eye on things. When we returned, the parking lot guy was nice enough to help us load the sleds. What I thought was “nice enough” quickly turned into “WTF?” The parking lot guy wanted to actually drive the sleds on, but not only that he grabs of a nice handful of throttle on dads new Apex to really “get it up onto the trailer”. This struck me as not good, and I told the guy, “No thanks, I got it”. This guy was just WAY overstepping his bounds here. My dad got pretty ticked, pretty fast. When I was leaving, I jumped into my truck, and the guys talking about how he rides, and what he rides, and whatever, and when I got into the truck, he opened the drivers side door to continue talking. With a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, he’s leaning into my brand new truck, smoking out the cab, talking about this and that, bla bla bla…. I was pretty much sick of listening to his bragging BS, so I literally threw the truck on D, before he would back out and let my dad in. We drove away thinking “what the f*ck is wrong with this guy……”
Incident 2 – (This one takes the cake) Pull into Twin Brooks this past Saturday. 7:45am, 6-8 inches of fluff on the ground, first truck in the lot. This time, I was with the wife. As I pulled in, I noticed the lot was not plowed, however the guy had just started plowing. I was in no rush, and figured I would let him finish up the lot before I pulled in. After pulling well off to the side, and waiting patiently for the guy to finish, he waves me in to park at the end. Before I even get a chance to drop the truck in drive, a snowmobile pulls out into the lot, and stops. It appears that this guy also works for Twin Brooks. Anyways, the plow truck guy thought it would be funny to “seemingly” chase the snowmobiler with his truck… So, he floors the truck, blows a donut, and now he’s coming right at me!!!! I see the rear of his truck swing out, and Im thinking “Oh sh*t, he cant possibly recover in time”. At the last second, he must let off of it, and the truck came around, missing the front end of my truck by maybe 5 feet AT BEST…… My wife was literally scared out of her seat. I almost attempted putting it into reverse to avoid the head-on collision with the plow truck, but their was a guy behind my trailer, and I couldn’t move. Seeing that big Fisher plow coming at me at that speed scared the crap out of me, I have to admit. Aside from the new truck, trailer, and two brand new sleds that coulda been totaled, I was with my friggin wife. If anything happened to her, Im scared to think of what I would do. So, he stops next to me, and I get out. He gets out, and I immediately knew who it was. Of course, it’s the guy from the week before. I ask him what the hell he’s doing, and he doesn’t know what Im talking about. I explained to him that this lot was no place for high-speed plow truck maneuvers, and that he almost hit my truck. He replied that he’d been plowing and dragracing for 30 years, and he knows what the f*ck he’s doing, and all this hot-head crap. I try telling him that what he did was by no means practical, but he continues on with this barrage of BS…. Seeing that Im getting nowhere with this moron, I park my truck in the lot, and head out riding. I wanted to leave, but the roads were bad, and I figured it would be better to let the roads clear abit before driving. As Im leaving that day, another worker comes up on a Polaris. Younger guy, maybe 25 or so, and asks how the riding was. We rode 100 flawless miles, and the conditions were really good. After talking with him for a minute, I ask him who the plow truck guy is. He told me his name, but I wont post it up on the board. If anybody want to know, email me or PM me privately. This guy proceeds to tell me that plow truck guy comes back from tours with smacked up sleds (the ones he’s riding), and that Twin Brooks receives complaints about him constantly. Im guessing he has some connect with the owner, because by the sounds of it, this moron pi$$es off a lot of people. Anyways, I will no longer park at Twin Brooks, as I refuse to patronize their business. Having workers that are racing around in the friggin parking lot all day, when theirs thousands of miles of trails is absolutely ridiculous if you ask me. Its only a matter of time before someone gets hurt, or a truck/sled gets smashed… I’m calling Twin Brooks at lunch to file a complaint. I wont forget to mention this incident to EVERYONE I know that rides out of there. Hope it was worth it. |

Yup, I used to park there. The only thing that stopped me was that hill heading up to the lot. Someone slid down it at the beggining of this season, and I thought for $5, I would just avoid it all together. Thanks for the heads up! |

There are 3 lots all on rt 9 that have groomed trail access. There's also parking in somerset and in Heartwellville. There's absolutely no reason to deal with idiots... especially when you're paying for the privilege.
