Awesome

I hate to ask this but I figure I'm far enough away from you. But, they are having some snocross races this winter at a local ski hill by us and was thinking of letting my son try it. And I have the spring and chain tenstior and was wondering if you would fill in me in on a good gearing to start with?

Thanks,
Frank

Don't worry about it I'll tell anybody what I do to the sleds. I'm a firm believer in "Its the rider not the sled".

You may want to have a few rear gears with you to adjust the day of the race.
I am basing this on a stock 10 tooth clutch.
On a flat wide and long track rear gears would be 39 tooth and as small as a 36 tooth (36 tooth lots of speed slow start)
On a short twisty track with some good hills 42 tooth and as large as 44 tooth (44 tooth tear your arms off out of the hole but no top end)
Track wheel kit.
Loosen the track.
Align the track
Lots of cooking oil on the slides use a spray bottle (don't let it freeze or you will spend $30.00 in gas idling your truck with the heaters on high to defrost the bottle before the race).
Spray the cooking oil into the tunnel and on the snow flap this will help prevent carrying excess snow around. (More weight = Less power)
Check the brake band to make sure its not rubbing when not in use.
Warm engine up with the hood open or off.
Open hood to let engine cool between heats. (if its a cold day keep engine running but with hood up)

I will be assembling a tech tips list with all I know (almost all (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistle.png) ) and what I do to the sleds on our race page in the next few weeks.
I am still learning there are a ton of tweaks that can be done I do not know them all but I will pass them along as I go.

Great stuff, thanks a bunch. I think I put a 12 clutch on but I have the 10 I can put back on. And I got the wheel kit for the track just have to put it on.

Thanks!
