ethanol mode is a different fuel map for fuels with ethanol, a "richer" fuel map.
you have to use the selector on the bar or guage to scroll through the modes till you get to the fuel mode. then i think you change it by holding the slect button

 

Open the left side panel look into your side panel and you will see the instruction.

It is also in your manual I suggest you read your entire manual there is allot of useful info in there .

1) Start engine

2) Lock parking brake

3) Press and release the mode button until fuel is displayed

4) Press and hold the set switch on left handlebar until desired fuel type is displayed

I always leave mine in ethanol mode is that an issue

 

No problem doing that, I have done that with all my sleds.

If you were to put it in the "Non-ethanol" mode, want to make sure to use the correct fuel.

 

i'm not so sure you should be taking it out of ethanol mode if you don't know what it does or how to work it. like the others said, read your manual.
