Default 2013 RMK Assault 155 or Pro RMK 155?

I've got a few weeks to decide before I snowcheck. I've posted, tossed/turned and flip flopped back and forth... Looking for opinions..good and bad.

I ride in New England. I've grown to 30-40% trail and as much as possible off trail. I just sold my 2011 SBA. Loved it! It was an awesome trail sled for me. I like the "playfull/manageable" ski lift in the corners and it was good offtrail with the 1.35 track and the C&A MTX (8" wide that I kept for my next sled)

I'm going to the 155 to enhance my offtrail experience and my trail riding has turned into a hunting expedition for offtrail. Weight isn't a huge concern, technology is. I'm still a novice to intermediate offtrail rider.

Pro RMK Pro's
-New Drive
-Weight (not a big deal to me)
-I like the snow-check white design!
Cons
-Shock package (need to clarify whats on the Assault)
-Narrow ski stance: Is it "too flickable/too tippy"for my skills
-Will my MTX 8" ski's assist in stability

155 Assault Pro's
-Wider Stance/better stability
-May have a better shock package
-Cool Snowcheck design

Con's
-Old technology: will there be a new drive Assault in 14'

No offense but how many times you going to ask I have the Switchback Assault same sled as you 2011. If it were me but you are not I would go with the Pro RMK to have the belt drive. The shocks on the Pro are good shocks. I just think the Assault track is a little over the top for the riding we do here in New England.

Here is the other thing I would ask my dealer if he would do a track swap for me at minimal cost. They have done it twice for me on other snow checked sleds but I do not know if they would on the RMKs.

CoolX2 on here has an RMK and he has switched his shocks and goes back and forth with tracks all the time. He could give you some great input about the tracks and the shocks.

How many times...?? I don't own a sled right now, fish aren't here yet...I've got nothing better to do!! I know 3-4 other people who are going through the same self driven headache. Thanks for the input though...it really helps.

I would order the powder Assault. The comp track works ok for me but is really hard on hyfax. I can't ride down a trail 100 ft. without scratchers. With the scratchers it's ok. Unless you climb icy hills, then the Assault track might be worth the trouble since you can put screws in it.

Not only is the RMK Assault track hard on hyfax but the rubber paddles are so stiff compared to the Pro RMK track that they eventually break off if you run it on hard packed too often

offshore im in the same boat...

want a 155 but cant decide if i want the assault with a comp track and black side panels, or a pro rmk with the 2.4 track and orange side panels. the 2.4 track is a bit much but i can always cut the track down some. ive never had good luck with walker shocks, and am nervous about the adjustable shocks on the assault and the regular walkers on the pro rmk. are the pro rmk shocks sound?
