Default Zr 5000 scores well in 4 stroke test

Not sure if anyone seen it but Snowmobile.com just did a test with 3 four stroke trail cruisers, the 1200 Doo, Yamaha Vector, and the Zr 5000. Anyways the Cat did surprisingly well. It was named most fun to pitch into corners, and was named the sportiest sled in the comparison. They did mention the sluggish motor, but also said it was due in part to the exhaust tone. Sounds like the 5000 is a real nice trail cruiser package, despite its rep as being underpowered and somewhat boring to ride.

Nice to hear. Should help my brother more on deciding if he should by one because he has been looking at that sled for some time.

its not under powered. it is what is. 120HP sled that is a quite, reliable trail cruiser.

I would love to see a trail shoot out between the Zr 5000 and the Ace 900. I to have been looking at the 1100 for sometime, also been looking at a leftover 600 shift, but I am a 4 stroke guy at heart, many many thumper bikes and quads over the years.

IMO it should be a much better trail sled over the ace. Much more power with the 1100. the ace will have the weight advantage.

the only place the 1100 is underpowered is in deep powder, and across the lake. other then that it is a great trail sled. that can hang real well with much more powerfull sleds on trail. you can only go so fast on the trail! I have been impressed with mine!

Not trying to stir the pot, but I had the 1100 ProCross and now a 900 ACE TNT.
My seat of the pants feeling is the ACE will smoke the 1100 in acceleration and the 1100 will top end the ACE.
The ACE feels like a go cart on steroids. Best sled I've ever owned, starting my 50th year of riding and having owned about 60 sleds. There is no sensation whatsoever in weight that makes this feel like a four stroke. Absolutely love this sled.
Go to DooTalk/900 forums. Almost like a love fest everyone likes the 900 so much.

1100 looks to hold its own vs the hotrod Cat 600 2 stroke.

While in Quebec (Riviere du Loup) last week I did get to do an Arctic Cat test ride on the 6000 and 7000.
The 7000 yami engine was loud but okay.
I was extremely impressed with the new Cat 600 motor. It pulled hard, was quiet and very crisp. I thought it was one of the nicer 600's I've driven. Was also impressed how the 600 rear suspension rode. Seat of the pants felt like the 600 pulled way harder than the 1100. The 600 SP El Tigre is a sled I could easily live with.

Watched the video, looks like the 600 easily took the 1100 by 5 or 6 sled lengths.
