I believe you are mistaken. In 07 the IQR was still a 440. The mod class allowed 600ho based motors . Not sure on the 08 600r motor but I know the 09+ 600r motors were ported from the factory, but it is a mild port and they came with low compression heads. Snopro420 has a mod 600r but I have no idea who built it....

My 09 mod motor came from a Guy at the Polaris Roseau MN Factory, worked Case but stock cylinders. It did come with a low comp 600r head on it we put a high comp head on, bored Carbs and 600r pipes, bought it all new in the crate for $2000 shipped with everything minus the high comp head it was a craigslist steal, just got lucky.

Nice H.O. motor tho! Does it have the dome inserts or is the head just cut for 112? In head Volume? Any port work case and cylinder wise?

The 06 factory "mod" 600's came unported with high comp domes. Not sure how hot the ignition was, had Carls hook mine up when I went 860 and they left it as it came. Never did ask but I presume if it was overly agressive they would have toned it down. They also came without the oil holes drilled for the oil pump drive gear. Sheet came with motor explaining that cases needed to be split and where and what size holes needed to be. Regardless most people who ran without an oil pump ended up having crank issues, even when using a syringe to feed the bearings and gear on a regular basis. Not saying this motor isn't ported tho, Peter seems to be on the upper end of the food chain when it comes to Poo parts.

Just to clear up some incoming questions. This engine was provided as an option to any "Joe Blow" racer had he ordered a rolling chassis for the mod class for the 06-07 season. Essentially, they allowed guys with smaller budgets an opportunity to compete in the mod class (whereas guys w/ bigger budgets could build their own engines or massage these motors provided by Polaris. The ports are left relatively stock for reliability (however they are glass-beaded) and to allow teams to make their own adjustments. The ignition is hot and tuned for race fuel, the head is cut (no interchangeable domes) as well for race fuel. If you just dropped it in w/ a set of race twins, expect hp to be in the high 140's to low 150's, a bit of port work will net you another 5-6hp. Slap a stock head on it and send the cdi back to be reprogrammed and you've got a stock 600HO. As far as the oiling to the pump drive gear, we cannot tell how it's set-up unless we split the cases which we do not want to do. If I were interested in this engine (which I might just keep for a shorty build) I would tear it down upon delivery for a full inspection anyway to determine that everything is tip top....but that's just due to my meticulous nature, I don't throw caution to the wind when it comes to my engines. Sorry for the confusion in my original post, I will make modifications to it relative to this new info. Thanks guys.

they came with interchangable domes, you had to go thru the race team to get domes that ran less than race fuel.

Curious if I can run this on 81 octane and would it mount in my dads old army submarine?
