also remember, this is a forum, for every person on here that says their motor blew up, there are 500 more on the trail that are running great without any issues, and 5 AC going down for every 1 skidoo.

Of course we hear about more problems with skidoo because there are way more of them out there than any other brand. I have 7300 miles on my 2010 800 renegade and this thing has not had one issue and i mean not one and i am still running the original belt . My buddy sold his 08 with 7500 on it and it was still going strong but he did have some belt issues. Then again i dont hold it wide open for 10 miles, i mean i ride it hard but a little common sense goes along way. I think most problems have more to do with the rider and not the manufacturer.

Doo really stepped up to the plate to give everybody a fresh rebuild with these.
There is no reason that the etecs won't 10000 miles before needing any work now.

There's no question about that!.Not one problem with mine!My 011 etec 800 had the fresh top-end work done in the fall.Currently my sled has 5,500 or so miles &is for sale!Owning snowmobiles has evolved into making business decisions about saving or selling a sled.I would cringe to think the about the return on my used sled sale if I were to keep it for a another.I'll take my chances with selling my sled with 5,500 miles rather than a possible 9,000+ miles!..A 3 year old sled that retailed new for $13,800 &selling for a mere 5-6,000 means taking more money to stay in the game for a new sled !

The guidelines is any 011'etec 800 that has an approximate mileage of 3,500 or more.The warranty covers all the cost.

Just got a call from dealer BRP is replaceing my Crank. (11 800Etec) with piston recall. Thank you BRP.

This is a recall bulliten, not a warrenty deal. Approx mileadge to qualify I've heard pretty much 3100-3150. I had 3101 and the dealer said close enough. Just had the work done last week.

I had pistons, rings and crank. I think it was a good deal, upgraded parts, completely rebuilt motor at 3100 miles, all paid for, sleds paid for. Completely serviced and ready to drop the door on the trailer for the first ride next season. Gonna keep this one for a couple more years now I think.

Does this still apply if the original ownership if transfered to a second party, on these 2011's 800 Etec's ?
