![]() pictured here is yamaha's top engineer testing what appears to be a modernized version of the apex. the twin track design promises to significantly increase the handling abilities of the sled to what yamaha calls "the most advanced handling sled that they have ever produced". yamahas top engineer, Toby Tyrone Jamal Jefferson, pictured opertaing the new sled, appears to be very excited about the new technology. when interviewing Toby, he stated "the 2014 apex will be a very exciting release for us. handling and speed are going to be dramatically increased while weight is going to be decreased by 30%". is this going to be the turn around point that yamaha needs and diehards have been very patiently waiting for? only time will tell. the model in the picture will likely be the apex-W model (W for winch, for pulling itself out of ditches, so you no longer have to rely on tow trucks). but you can tell just by looking at the photo that the 2014 release promises to be a significant leap forward in sled design for yamaha,.

It appears to be a ski-less design also. Very interesting! Wonder if it is available with a turbo?

well, it has been said for many years that the stock yamaha skis are pretty much useless anyway...so why not just get rid of them? smart move on yamahas part.
