Behind my house there is an apple orchard, when I first moved in the place was still in business and a I had a hedge row on two sides of my property separating me from the orchard, well the farm has been out of business for a few years now and the property isn't taken care of any more, at first it wasn't bad, i maintain the hedge row in my side (i own about 5-10ft into it depending on where you stand) but now the row has turned into a jungle on back half and is now 30ft wide, I can trim and do all I want but the shit behind just grows straight into air and then fall towards my side and its driving me nuts, there is roughly 500ft of this crap and I have sprayed the shit out of it with brush b gone but it just all comes back.. the town has told me to pound sand as its under the farm land conservation act (although its up for sale to developers to build houses), the ticks, rodents, mice, moles rabbits and shit are ridiculous.. so long story short I want to cut it down, I could rent a brush hog mower but I think the first year I am gonna need to go threw it weekly to keep it under, I don't want to spend shit and have seen some old Gravely's with brush mowers cheap, the DR mowers are pricey, I would buy a used tractor and a brush hog for much less before getting one of those
anyone use a Gravely for this? they work ok? or should i use the gas and match method lol ![]() any suggestions on clearing and killing this should would be good! |
