Default Backyard ice rink

Anyone have one? I've been in the process of building one for my 4 year old, and who am i kidding myself too! First of all let me just say that this rink was a battle for me because my property all runs to a ravine. So i had a hell of a time leveling it and finally said screw it and just back filled it with snow incase of a blowout. I just started filling it about 2 hours ago, and i'm so excited to use it! [

My dad did that every year growing up, was a blast. Guy around the corner bought a bunch of lumber and built a cluster fawk rink in his front yard. Funny as Hell. Guess he didn't know water seeks its own level. It's a racked out outta level mofo. Yard must drop 2' over the length of the rink. Now that its cold enough to freeze he must realize it.

It's blue, I couldn't find a white tarp big enough for the size of my rink and I wasn't gonna spend a couple hundred on a real liner. I'm Keeping my fingers crossed it will work....

Lol, I probably look like that guy your talking about. This is my first attempt at this rink thing so I guess I'm learning as I go. But I hope it works.

Suns gonna be a problem. I got 3 buddies with these so I've seen Fails a few times around. But your North of us so it may work out.

Also if its just a tarp you buy at Menards etc it will leak.

Dang I keep getting fails from you guys, it is a menards tarp but it seems to be holding water. I got it about half way filled and the ice is about 1/2 inch thick so far.

Clear plastic is the best,Any color will absorb heat and slow the freeze, If you have it level thats half the battle.

White specific liner material is the best.
