Default 9 Digit Phone Numbers Ringing On My Phone?

Here's a new one for ya,(or me anyway). First time it happened I caught it ,and did not answer. Then yesterday It happened again. Incoming call with my local area code, and only 6 #'s after it. I called Sprint and the rep told me that there was company who buy these 9 digit numbers and are scammers????? Humm
Well I asked him to put a block on the number, and he said he could only block 10 digit #'s??
Just got a new phone a few weeks ago, now I keep getting calls with "unavailable" #'s... so I never will answer the calls. Goes to my voice mail, and some lady is saying my name, but never says who she is,or any other kind of message. It is starting to get real irritating!!!
Just wondering if anyone else has had this 9 digit thing happen? Or heard of such a thing?

I've seen a few low digit numbers on my caller id before, never answered them though. Maybe I'll start.

It's a credit card company that you're past due on. I used to get one every once in a while until I blocked all the numbers they called from :grinning:

Did a google search... all kinds of ideas to look up this #... Phone detective and such. Tried it... won't work ,has to be a 10 digit # for the search to work.
Not really into answering it, fear of the unknown I guess. Now it's coming in with different last 3 digits///humm?
I guess there is ways to block or change your caller I.D. That's what I read anyway.
Come on TECH GUY! Help me out.
I am pretty sure now that the "unavailable" caller I.D. is the same caller as this 9 digit shit. Both started around the same day. I am not answering either one.
Guess I will try to turn off the ringer and vibrate mode on this # next.
