Default gun people - anyone have a NFA trust set up???

so i want to buy a silencer. seems like a long drawn out process with no guarantee that I will get the local police chief to sign it anyway. the guy that i buy my guns from said that some people do an NFA trust. i don't know much about them, but according to the web and the lawyers' websites that do them, in wisconsin, get a trust, buy whatever you want. seems almost too good to be true?!?!

My understanding is that it allows you to buy NFA items (SBR, Suppressors...) under the trust vs. your person. Allowing multiple people to have possession under the trust.

Don't have to worry about this in MN

yeah, i found out that it is a complete pain in the ass to get a ffl, much less a class 3 at that. this NFA trust sounds like the way to go, but i don't know anyone personally that has it. the place i get my guns from sets people up with a lawyer that does it so i will probably give it a try and start small with silencers and whatnot.

On the topic of silencers and such, watch Sons of Guns on Discovery Channel. I think I've seen every episode twice.

If you go the trust route make sure you are using a lawyer familiar with NFA trusts and that he understands it is not just a gun trust. If the trust were found to be invalid you could end up with problems.
I checked on the trust route and decide to go with the individual ownership on a couple full auto purchases and a suppressor.

Yeah I saw that show. Think it is horrible. Bunch of rednecks working for a guy that fucks his daughter by the looks of it.. Makes gun owners look like morons.
