Default 03 440 sno pro questions

I was wondering if you have to trail convert the 03 440 sno pro's to be rode on ditchs and trails? I can't remember if they come with 91 octane heads and oil injection and all that good stuff?

Any info would be nice

Thanks

Ive been learning about this myself, Well pump gas domes are suggested, oil injection is personal preference , just make sure you have the proper cooling system, and you should clutch it and gear it properly! Take a look around the site, theres lots of answers out there for you!

Yes on the 2003 sno pro 440 you need to buy low compression domes or look on ebay for domes from a 2002 sno pro 440 they came stock with low comp domes. 2003 was arctic cats transition year where they sold the sleds with high compression domes, also i would buy a U-cooler from an f7 to help with the cooling of the sled

to run 91 octane you need to remap the cdi , speedwerx does this.

on 03 you need to remap cdi, you do not need to get low comp. domes...i have highs, rear cooling and remapped cdi, runs like a champ.

We put the cooling kit on ours, put in a mix of race gas/premium (70%/30%) with Amsoil Dominator oil premixed at 40:1 and it runs awesome. Never touched the CDI or anything, starts, runs great and it's a blast to ride!

yea but you are still running 110, you're just cutting it with premium...in order to run just 93 all day you need to remap cdi.

I'm not doubting you have to remap the CDI to run straight premium. We figured why go to the expense to change the domes, remap the CDI, add oil injection(otherwise you're still mixing), rejet, reclutch and whatever else to LOSE HP. Sure it would be nice to dump premium in and oil in a tank but how much does all that cost and that's why we bought a SNOPRO....lots of power and great suspension and handling. We have an '03 500 Firecat SNOPRO edition..nice sled, nice to dump premium in the tank and oil in its tank....but power wise it will not hang with our 440, there is a big difference. Just our opinion................

on my 03zr440sp I did the CDI box and a cooling kit and it runs fine when until 40 i get hard on the gas it bogs and will not go more than 5mph on a full throttle, then stalls... If i start it back up its fine, but i cant figure out whats wrong? and what should the timing be set on?
