looking for a some insight. i am new to dirt bikes but am an avid atver and have had many racing atv's never raced any of them just trail driving. I am looking for a good dirt bike for trail driving here is my thoughs either a crf 150rb, ttr 230, crf 230 or any 250 kxf, rmz, crf, yzf. i am 5 ft 8 and weigh 170 so i ain't very big. how come the 250 race bikes and the 150 rb they say have such a high maintence schedule. how come they have to be rebuilt so often? if they are trail driven they shouldn need just basic oil and air filter changes and they should be fine. how does a 250's power stack up to racing wheeler's i know they weigh alot less. i have had a trx 450r, 660 raptor kfx 700. any thoughts are appreciated. i am looking for a good trail bike but not one that is under powered

no i'm not stuck on a 4 stroke i've been looking at 125's. i have good mechanic skills so a 2 stroke don't worry me. i know a used 125 is a lot cheaper to buy maybe i'll look at them more. i figure that the 230 is not really what i want. thanks for the info

honda crf250x or 450x for trail riding,or any of the other (ktm ,yam, suzuki, kawi)trail bikes....ktm has 2 stroke bikes all set up for trail riding also..e start, lights, susp, frame, motor are set up diff. than the mx bikes
I have a 05 crf250x has never gave me a prob. I just change the oil every few hundred miles, clean the filter, chain, and check the spokes for tightness.I rarely ever even check the valves they haven't moved and a dirtbike will murder a wheeler
