get rid of loud exhausts

Those of you riding in the pittsburg nh area this season get rid of your aftermarket exhaust is was up there this past weekend an got pinch 130 dollar ticket the fish cop said there cracking down cause they have had land owners complaints.

The fish cop cut me a break 2 I wasn't driving like a ahole I was actually only doing 40 I have got speeding tickets up there so this was definetly a surpise. Now its stock again whisper quiet I think I drive faster now cause I can't hear it.

The revenue generaters love the loud exhaust because it justifies their job and puts money in the coffers. If everyone got rid of them theyd think up a new way to generate revenue from sledders. Keep in mind its always,always about the money plain and simple.

Its possible to look at it that way, but why give the anti's more ammo to close trails. I agree with Superdave....we can be our own worst enemy. Many of the trails we use are on private land....its a privilege to use them not our right.

If your after market exhaust dosen't pass the decebel rule--get it off.

What PISSES ME OFF is people getting tickets just because they have aftermarket exhaust! SOME aftermarket exhaust is Quieter than stock!!

In Wi. They HAVE to give you the test or YOU WILL BEAT the ticket!!!!

Not sure what your saying as far as some aftermarket exhaust being quieter than stock....Find that very hard to believe. Even sleds build before 00 imo were quieter than any aftermarket systems i've heard. One of the sled clubs i belong to had a sound meter in which we use to check a lot of sleds and bikes. I have yet to see an aftermarket system come within 2 db of sleds built after 00.

Wonder if property owners have their windows open in the Winter? As some of you know there is a bar 500 feet from my home where 3 snowmobile trails go to, the only time I hear sleds with loud pipes is when I'm outside, I don't hear them at all while inside even though many have very loud pipes.
Now I'm not condoning loud pipes cause I know it bothers some folks, I'm just saying.

Just my experience being kind of a light sleeper. I recall hearing even some of the louder stock exhaust equipped sleds never mind the guys with aftermarket systems when staying at inns or motels on sled trips. Trails usually ran within 50' of the windows from the rooms staying. These places we stayed were in the more populated sled hubs where guys were returning from bar and ballet night after 2 am.
