Default Being an adult is over-rated! Have to cancel my U.P. trip!!

I sell printing for a living and moved to a new company 6 months ago after 9 years at my last company. Any time I've moved it's taken me 6-9 months to get fully back to where I was. Well it's been 6 months and like clockwork this coming week I'm absolutely slammed. First job for a brand new client, tons of work for current clients and an endless amount of quotes. We have great support but I make it known to my clients to rely on me and that's why I do so well compared to a lot of my counterparts.

Because of this I'm canceling my trip to Christmas, MI in the U.P. that was to be from the 12th-16th. With this bad winter I'm hoping I can get in at least one more trip. I still have to call my buddies and let them know. Growing up is a bitch.

Seems like it's always something. If it isn't work, it's no snow or some other scheduled family thing. I'm planning on taking the 3rd week of Feb off just for sledding, it'll probably rain.
That sounds like I'm very negative, but I'm always an optimist and looking forward to a great trip!

It sure is hard to get all the contributing factors to line up when you need them too isnt it? This year is especially bad. Maybe we will get some good spring snow.

Yep, then the next two weekend are out for me as well. The weekend of the 26th is Daytona and I always have a big party for that and the next weekend is my daughters birthday. That'll leave me 4 weekends left to try to ride. What a disappointing year.

I feel worse about having to tell my buddies today I can't go.

I feel for you guys, fortunately I've always been pretty lucky and able to go when I want. Even owning my own business I can make it work pretty easily. Problem is getting enough guys to go. Always able to scrape up a couple though.
I know limited snow isn't helping anyone out this season.

It seems it's easier to do a trip on shorter notice. A couple of weeks ago I called my cousin up on Wednesday and said lets go to Caddy this weekend and we went.

I've got a place in SW MI two hours from home and it's great to go there for a quick weekend but I've only been able to ride there once this winter.

I had it pretty good for 25 years living in North Dakota I could ride right from my house where ever I wanted too. After moving to Missouri I really have to plan it out much better. Living here now I look back and think how much I took for granted riding there, I should have really rode so many more days even than what I did.
