Hi all - I have a 2006 Ski Doo GTX 500SS and the heated grips are starting to go. I'm not sure if I should replace them with OEM parts or use an aftermarket type like Hot Grips or something like that.

Has anyone used Hot Grips or another aftermarket brand they can recommend? Also, will an aftermarket heated grip connect to the factory switch on a REV 'Doo? I'd hate to have to install another switch for them.

Any advice and insight will be appreciated!!

pm paul at sled solutions. I just put a pair of RSI warmers on that I got from him. I think they were 34.95 for the pair, that was 1/2 the price of a OEM set. and they are very warm. I highly recommend them

Replacing the grips is the easy part with BRP. Finding the part can be fun. Kind of tells you they are a piece of crap. I have replaced three on my renegade and I have a new one in the console of my truck to go on this weekend. The wiring connectors are a real pain in the ASS ! Most guys just solder the wires to the old wires and stay out of the connectors. I watched a buddy put a pair of the RSI warmers on his Nitro and it looked pretty slick. If you do go with the BRP use a heat gun to remove the old ones and spray some WD40 on the new ones to apply. Good Luck !

I just put the RSI ones on my sled and they work really well. A big improvement over the stock ones.

Just got my RSI warmers in the mail yesterday from Sled Solutions - Thanks Paul!

Couple of questions - are the stock Doo 2006 grips glued on, or will using an air compressor remove them?

Also, I plan to use the stock handlebar switch, and the instructions say to 'connect the (stock) waterproof connectors to the RSI heater wires' - should these connections be soldered, and shrink tubing to cover them?

Please let me know - I want to make sure I do this right - thanks!!
