Fiscal Cliff and Debt Ceiling put into a much better perspective!
LESSON #1: U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000 Federal budget: $3,820,000,000,000 New debt: $1,650,000,000,000 National debt: $14,271,000,000,000 Recent budget cuts: $13,600,000,000 Now, let’s remove 8 zeros and pretend it’s a household budget: Annual family income: $21,700 Money the family spent: $38,200 New debt on the credit card: $16,500 Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710 Total budget cuts so far: $136 LESSON #2: Here is another way to look at the debt ceiling: Let's say, you come home from work and find there has been a sewer backup in your neighborhood, and your home has sewage all the way up to your ceilings. What do you think you should do? Raise the ceiling or remove the $hit? |

my guess is they won't understand.
example: In an interview with Stephen Moore of the Wall Street Journal, newly re-elected House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) opened up about President Obama’s utter unwillingness to cut a single dollar from federal spending. In a stunning admission, Obama reportedly told Boehner, “We don’t have a spending problem.” Boehner added that President Obama continues to maintain that America’s federal deficit is caused not by governmental overspending but by “a health-care problem.” Said Boehner, “They blame all of the fiscal woes on our health-care system.” Boehner told Obama, “Clearly we have a health-care problem, which is about to get worse with Obamacare. But, Mr. President, we have a very serious spending problem.” Obama eventually replied, “I’m getting tired of hearing you say that.” Obama to Boehner: 'We Don't Have a Spending Problem'

Obama is such an idiot... won't cut a single dollar?
When will common sense be common again?

not having a budget is part of their plan to destroy america.
by law (ya, i know), future baseline spending is pegged to the last passed budget ('09) which was a monster.

Tuesday marks the 1,350th day since the Senate passed a budget. The law requires Congress to pass a budget every year, on the grounds that Americans deserve to know how the government plans to spend the trillions of taxpayer dollars it collects, along with dollars it borrows at the taxpayers’ expense. But Majority Leader Harry Reid, who last allowed a budget through the Senate in April 2009, has ignored the law since then.

Who are trying to fool? How's the R's history in regards to spending cuts?
ImageUploadedBySnowmobile1357667403.354252.jpg The R's philosophy is to cut taxes and increase spending - hence the fiscal situation. At least the D's want more revenue to keep up with their spending. Sent from my iPhone using Snowmobile.com App |
