Find the connector that runs from the stator and disconnect. Get yourself a quality multimeter and set it to the Ohms scale. The shop manual has wire colors and reading and compare to your results. If you need the numbers I can get them but right now I'm at work.

how can i tell? i just received the new ECU today, havent plugged it in though, went through everything cant find any problems. havent tested ccu. is there a way to check it without plugging in the ecu?

ok so i took a chance and installed the new ecu, took it for a short ride and no problems, could it just be an internaal failure of the ecu?? how can i test the ccu to be sure it is good?
