2002 sxviper

Im looking at purchasing a 2002 Viper. What size gas tank did they come with? No electric start or reverse if that matters and what can I expect for mpg or fuel range for a tank of gas, thanks.

10 gallon tank. Expect around 120 miles on a tank if the sled is stock

I am pretty sure that the tank holds 12 gallons and I get between 11 and 13 mpg. It really depends on how you ride and the conditions of the snow, trails, etc.

wow, how are you guys getting such good mileage? My buddy has an 02 sx viper and it doesn't do near as well. He laughed at my Rev when I got 10 mpg till we checked his SX viper. We have checked it several times and it is getting between 7 and 8 mpg. It seems to run great but just sucks gas like hell.

He should check his carbs and oil pump cable adjustment somethings not right. I rode 94 miles Saturday and used about 7 gallons of gas. Was easy on the throttle tho, trails sucked!

Definitely something wrong.Other than running a lot of lake we don't do a lot of off trail powder riding(mostly groomed trail),but I seldom ever see the low fuel light before 120 miles.i'm pretty sure there's still a gal. left when the light comes on.

well I told him he needs to lower the needles because to me it sounds really rich and blubbery in the midrange. During low and mid cruise it runs very rough

Sounds like the jetting or clutching is waaay off. Is it or was it piped out one time?
