i have a stock 01 -800 zr 800 .. with stock gearing. now thats its a couple years old i would like to gear it a little faster than stock . need a litle more. i hear 25/38 works but is there any other gears out there some body tryed. i was looking in the performance book but cant find any thing better. what chain works with 25/38 ??.. thanks for any info

I have a 13 wide set of 25/38 with a 72 pitch chain for sale. Upgraded to 15 wide on my sled this year. The 900's love those gears, bet the 800's like'm too. :div20:

Some people say the 25/38 is to much for a stock 800. Stock gearing should be 24/39, you could try 26/41 but if ZR1000 will give you a good deal on the 25/38's you might as well try them. All should accept the same chain as far as links.

Clutch it for what you're trying to accomplish. It will give you alot more than changing gears, assuming you are already in the ballpark.
