I have a 2000 or 2001 Z440 fan cooled. The sled runs fine at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle however when you give it full throttle you feel it lose power and RPMs. Any ideas what the issue may be? Stretched throttle cable?

Gotta remove the carb/carbs, remove the slides, the jets, the chokes, and clean everything. Old sled, that doesn't flow a lot of air or fuel to begin with meaning that even a slight restriction could make it run like crap, and potentially lean it out enough to harm the motor

could be.... dirty carbs .... crank seal/s ... carb boots ... as said could also be too rich but I would guess it is running lean ...

I'd also guess carb issue, clean or better yet replace the jets.

Those things produce soooo little suction through the carb orifices, tiny gunk in there at all, and they run all kinda rough.
A bigger sled.....would just burn down.

OK thanks. It wasn't warm when it happened. I will check the carbs on it this summer. My 10 year old son drives it and we have had it for 2 years and it hasn't burned down. Of course I jumped on it this past year and immediately noticed it. Dam kids lol

I've had a lot of guys bring me sleds like that. Running on one cylinder, clutches worn beyond shot, and they Think they've been running "good".
You might as well order a Cam arm rebuild kit for the primary clutch now.
