I know the 670 and the 583 can swap cylinders and pistons, anyone know if the newer (00-03) 700-800 will bolt onto the 583? probably not, but I'm curious.

oops, must've been sniffing too much 2 stroke exhaust. For some reason I assumed the 670 was a bored 583, probably should have stated that differently. I feel like an idiot now. know what they say never assume anything...

i knew the 700 and 800 are reed, I was just curious as to whether through some miracle it was possible. I have an interesting summer project planned and I have a 583 rotary motor already that I was hoping to make bigger.

hmmm, back to the drawing board.

A good port job will wake up the 583 and to match it replace the rotary valve with a 501. However the port job will be a lil costly I would think your best bang for buck would be regearing it for how you ride.

a complete swap to a 670 would be the most simple way to go bigger bore.
