Default 92 indy sp efi ?

heres the deal..helping my neighbor with this EFI 500 that hasn't been run in awhile.. looked in the tank and the fuel has completly broke down and could see junk in the bottom of the tank..noticed the brass filter laying in there and fished it out..corroded badly..come to find out the junk in the tank was rotted peices of fuel line...took the tank off to clean it but my question is..I assume the filter goes on a piece of fuel line and hooks onto the threaded in fitting and lays at the bottom of the tank..but what is the other line that goes into the tank?? is that some sort of a return line or whats the deal..not familiar with this EFI system and any help would be great.... EFI has an extra fuel return line, that's it. I would take the tank off and clean it good and put new fuel lines on it and a new fuel filter.
