92 indy sp efi ?

heres the deal..helping my neighbor with this EFI 500 that hasn't been run in awhile.. looked in the tank and the fuel has completly broke down and could see junk in the bottom of the tank..noticed the brass filter laying in there and fished it out..corroded badly..come to find out the junk in the tank was rotted peices of fuel line...took the tank off to clean it but my question is..I assume the filter goes on a piece of fuel line and hooks onto the threaded in fitting and lays at the bottom of the tank..but what is the other line that goes into the tank?? is that some sort of a return line or whats the deal..not familiar with this EFI system and any help would be great.... R2R

EFI has an extra fuel return line, that's it. I would take the tank off and clean it good and put new fuel lines on it and a new fuel filter.

ok great..I kinda figured thats what it was but wanted to make sure..tank is off and cleaned ,, is there 2 filters on these..i seen one small one then a big silver thing..looks like some kind of filter on the return line, this is a crash course for me on this thing....R2R

on my 95 rxl 650 efi 1 comeing out of tank little plastic one and then big metal filter b4 it goes into fuel rail

Yes. Two filters. Change them both

not shure if your metal filter is same as mine but dealer wants 50 dollars u can get the fram at walmart or parts store # 4777 its the equivalant

ya...this comes out of the rail and is the return line,,so this is some kind of special filter? so p/n is 4777 at wal-mart then?

mine is set up like this/ line out of near bottome tank goes to plastic filter to bottom of fuel pump line comes out top of pump and goes to metal filter to fuel rail on clutch side then back out other side of fuel rail to tank for return line
