X2. My buddy dynoed one back in 99. At the time his customer was into trying those aftermarket cans on that sled. Only one that was any good was a dynoport can....didn't show any hp loss and actually felt more fun to ride with the can installed opposed to oem.

The 92-95 horsepower figure is accurate for the regular XC 500. If I look hard enough through my stacks of old snowmobile magazines, I can probably find some proof for you. When I was looking to trade my wife's '95 XLT, I thought about getting an XC 500 because the regular XC 500 could run with the XLT, and the XC had better suspension. (The XLT 600 put out 90+ horsepower.)
Here are the numbers for the different 500s: Indy 500 -- 78-80 horsepower starting in 2001 with the updated engine XC 500 -- 92-95 horsepower (as everyone has already pointed out) XC 500 SP -- 105 horsepower (VES) I can vouch for the high horsepower number on the XC 500 SP. My wife has one, and it's faster than Cat's powerful F-5. It'd also give my '98 XC 600 fits, and it stays with my Pro-X up to about 75-80 mph.
