i think this has been posted here before but any one find a reliable aftermarket idler wheel for the apex. the yamaha ones are like $50 a peice and they dont have removable bearings. i think i heard someone say polaris wheels work well. slightly oversized i have heard can reduse slider/hyfax wear. any thoughts?

I'll have to see if I have the paperwork that shows the part # for the Polaris idler wheels that my dealer put on my Apex. They helped alot, and had replaceable bearings.

I'll try to post the info(if I can find it) later tonight.

The black spoke accessory wheels from Yamaha work fine and the bearing is a 6205 replacement.

Go to www.denniskirk .com, order 0430, $21 each, they come with plastic inserts, take those out, and they come with the replaceable bushings.
They are 5 1/4" OD, which is a little bigger than the stock Yamaha's. I believe these are 5 1/8" OD

Yup, your right that is what I did also, http://www.highlandsyamaha.com/pages/catal...ogey-wheel.aspx
I ordered them from countryside yamaha, its just outside of chicago (used to live there) they have the best prices I have been able to find anywhere. Thier web site is a little slow though.

I used the new Yamaha wheels. Check them out here: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products...0/0/detail.aspx
They are much better than the stock ones. Come in 4 colors and are just a simple bolt on. No problems yet for me. Paid $19.95 each with the bearing installed.
