So this is what it does,if i put in new plugs(ngk brp9es)it works fine from start up and so on.has good power.....but if i ride long periods in the woods whit low rpm and speed and then get to an open field and give it WOT it fouls a plug quite often or if we ride wery hard and stop to talk shit for a minute and i let it idle, then when i take off it usualy fouls one.first i thought it was the ves not working properly and causing this cos one of them had a broken membraine and the other had a broken spring.fixed this and thought that the problem had gone away.....but no today it did it again.......moast often its the pto side plug....but it have fouled the mag side some times too.....once i tried runing brp8es in it and it seamed to work fine.but switched to brp9es back cos thats what it should have.

i have read some posts about it here on the forum but all seams to be about new sleds......mine has like 6000miles on it so it aint new no more....engine is rebuilt thou for about 800 miles ago.

sounds like it is too rich, how much oil are you using. Only other thing would be low spark at idle or low rpm (check voltage regulator)

If it were me I would put new boots on it and cut the wires back an inch, and try that. That is if you haven't already changed them in 6000 miles. Are the plugs gas soaked, or oil soaked when you pull them?

if it is to rich how do i change that?and how do i check the voltage regulator?

i would say its gas soaked.

if i go and ride alone it works fine cos im kind of hard on the throtle, i give it WOT every where its possible.the problem comes mostly when riding whit friends when i have to be easier on the throtle, and when the possibilty comes to give it some gas it usualy starts tu hesitate and stumbel....some times it fires right back but often i have to stop and change the plugs

And about the oil.....cant tell the ratio, but i would say it uses mutch.

the oil consumption dont bother me but if that is the problem i gues i have to do something about it.....how do i change the oil pump setting?

oil useage on that sled should be about 55/1. break the gas down to ounces should use 55 ounces of fuel to 1 ounce of oil. the problem could be your pipe temp sensor. if its not reading right it will over fuel it. if it thinks its cold. has to be put on digatil wrench at a dealerto check. they have to pull the sensor out of the pipe and heat it up while they watch it change on the computor. not something you can check yourself.

Was in the garage wrenching today.the sled is new to me so i took it apart a litle.found out that my air box was cracked at the bottom...like wide open so i guess this could cause
some funny things cos the sensor is above the crack?well i fixed this.once the air box was out of the way i checked boots for cracks but found nothing.....my throttle cable was loose thou so i think it might have been out of phase whit the oil pump.fixed it.and i also noticed that my coils was rusty at the mounting holes especially the one foe the pto side witch have been causing more problems.had them lose and grinded the rust away and put it back together.....not sure thou but my guess is that it should ground from here??well it for a 15 minute spin and seams to work good.....gotta go and give it a real 2-3 hour test to see what it dose..

Pull the reeds out and inspect the petals for cracking/chipping. The hole that you found in the air box would have allowed a larger than normal amount of belt dust in. You will not believe how dirty the reeds are! While out tape up the seam on the airbox, Foil tape from you local building center works great.
