As of bulletin #s-07-10 The oil pump needs to be set 1 line width above the oil pumps index mark. Making this adjustment will bring the ratio to 80:1 This is only for the 07 600 cfi. I have a copy of the complete bulletin from my dealer. Lets get these sleds correct and just ride without worry. Anyone needing help with this technical adjustment E-mail me directly. markshop@wi.rr.com

Where did you come up with the 80:1 figure? I just had mine done, and am at 35:1...

Polaris injection oil pump efficiency varies greatly, some that are set on the oil pump index pump mark will pump 16 oz of oil in 100 miles, some pump 32 oz & some pump 9.1 oz in 100 miles.
That is why if one just uses fuel to oil ratios when gas MPG varies greatly, oil usage per 100 miles varies greatly!

The Polaris 2000 500cc XC engine's oil pump was very efficient or too large of capacity. So then we usually had to bend the cable mtg bracket down on the oil pump to reduce oil flow to acceptable levels!

Talked to a Ski-Doo owner (since 2001) last week that is still very upset about his old oil guzzling & gas guzzling 2000 Poo 500cc XC. My brother had bent the oil pump cable mounting bracket bent down as far as possible for the owner in 2000, still oil guzzling POS since 2000!!! A Poo dealer would do nothing, so he lost a good customer that still tells a lot of people in his bar that Poos are oil & gas guzzling pieces of shit.

For easy riding I like my sleds to use 70:1 fuel to oil ratios, at 15 MPG = 12 oz oil in 100 miles. Hard riding poor 5 oz of Red Line oil into fuel tank
For hard riding I like my sleds to use 50:1 fuel to oil ratios, at 15 MPG = 17 oz oil in 100 miles.
We use Red Line oil, not Poo Shit VESSSSII Gold Shitttttt!!!
Safe sledding; Rich

Where should the oil ratio be set on an 2008 700 IQ. Is there a bulletin out on this yet? My Poo dealer refused to change mine and said I would burn the motor if I changed ratio. I am currently about 40:1 after 650 miles.

Why are you saying things like this?

The sled does not know whether you are riding easy or hard. The oil pump runs according to how much you hit the throttle. Whether you ride hard or easy the ratio WILL be the same. If you get 15 MPG riding hard you burn the same amount of oil as you would if you get 15 MPG gallone riding easy, if your ratio is the same. And your ratio cant change just because you ride easy or hard... unless, you still ride the factory setting of the IQ oil pumps.

At least on the 600 ho, I have done an adjustment myself, and not just the adjustment to make the throttle plates open at the same time the pump moves, But to actually get the pump set so it doesnt rest on the the motor mount at idle. Yes the 600 cfi rested on the motor mount at idle. That is all that stopped it from closing even more.

The bulletin actually states the new setting is 80:1 at idle, was over 100:1 with original bulletin specs. 50:1 to 60:1 average is where I would want a 600 set for long term engine life. That would give you approx 300 miles before actually needing oil (light comes on early then needed on most models).
