Speaking of lakes freezing, I saw a portable ice house out on Prior Lake yesterday and only certain bays are frozen, the bigger parts are still open water. I sure as hell wouldn't walk out there right now.

I'm not worried, not yet anyway... Yep we've been spoiled, especially last year. I think the worst that can come out of this is the loss of the momentum the sled market has right now. Really though, the used sled prices are getting out of hand and this could help adjust them a bit. At least we will have good ice this year.

been through this many times, if it doesn't snow enough for the trails we still always get good ice and enough snow for the rivers... down side is then I have to stud, but will get some awsome river running in this season!!! it is early yet though, if it doesn't happen by jan 1 though then we are screwed. Ideal would be to get really cold, freeze everything up, then get a couple good dumpings by jan 1 and no temps above freezing, then we could ride on that all season!! last time we got 2 bad ones in a row, 02-03,03-04 and 04-05 it never came early and had to go north to ride and got caught in the rain dec 29 in tower!!!lol..and then we got some snow down here and I lost ring pin in my 03 f7 with only 400 miles on it and it took 2 weeks to get it fixed!! memories!!lol

What about the smaller lake's in that area? Seing any portable shack's out?

rice lake in brainerd has fish houses and the river is froze, it is white out there!! could go if i had studs

There is 8 plus inches of ice on the lakes north of Two Harbors!

Local news reported 1.4" of snowfall in Kittanning...didn't get shit 15 miles west.
Snow was also s'posed to last until 11 o' clock, being a 70% chance until 9, 50% at 10, 30% at 11 o clock this evening.and 2" of accumulation.
