Default Last second trip North shore reccomendations?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

My son is Freshman at UMD and he moves back into dorms Tuesday..... so I decided we should go try the trails on the North shore tonight/ Monday and need a place to stay. I don't want to go all the way to Grand Maris. Is there a decent lodge or hotel you could recommend and has good trails nearby?

Can't leave until I know we have a place to stay... and don't know how far we have to go... Silver Bay, Two Harbors, Lutzen??

Any help would be appreciated, reply back or personal message would be great!!

Thanks a ton!!!

I have had good luck at the Country Inn Two Harbors. You can ride from the hotel if there is enough snow. Otherwise it is only about 10 miles by trailer to the Two Harbors parking lot.

The Mariner Inn in Silver Bay can be an option if you don't mind an older Motel and can ignore the crabby old Russian owner.

I think the old Russian guy left the country last year... You could also try Our Place, in Finland, he has a couple reasonable rate cabins. Some places require two night stays, at least for Fri and Sat nites, the busiest times to make reservations. AmericInn in Tofte...get up while the riding is GOOD!!

Tofte AmericInn. The manager is a great person to deal with, and it is 100% snowmobile friendly. Gas next door, trail to the door, parking for trailers. Cant really go wrong, especially true during the weekdays.
