Any updates would be appreciated! Thinking of heading up this weekend to either Two Harbors or Silver Bay. Let us know how things are looking.

IT WAS A GREAT TRIP !!! Drove up sunday night in snowing "white knuckle" conditions and drove home Tuesday afternoon in snowing "white knuckle" conditions..... very bad road conditions but good sledding!!

Woke up to 4 fresh inches of snow Monday morning in Two Harbors Americ Inn... got out the the State trail and headed north..... trails in very good shape... worked our way by Silver Bay, Past Finland, almost up to Tofte. Started working a couple loops here and there and then ran up to have lunch at The Tressle. Hand a great lunch, gased up next door at the Crooked Lake Resort and headed west and hit the Timber Wolf trail south to the Moose Run to the Moose Walk trail and back to Two Harbors on the state trail. Got back an hour after dark, a good long day.

Saw several grouse, a Jackrabbit, a bunch of deer..... and ONLY 14 SNOWMOBILES ALL DAY !!!! 4 of the were at the Tressle parked. Fresh snow on the trail almost
everywhere. When we got up Tuesday morning to leave it was snowing agin like mad. Another 3" before we left for home. Hotel was great ( only 5 cars in the lot).

The only bad stretch of trail was a section leaving the State Trail and heading straight north to the Tressle. It was about 5-6 miles of straight trail, 2' bumps every 10-12'.... Nasty!! Only got off the trail a couple times.... snow was really deep 18"-26"

Thanks for the help with Lodging, can't wait to head up agin and hit many of the trails we passed up!!

Thank you for sharing. Good to hear everything went well. Sounds like some good running up there.

Robb at the Trestle told us he was almost carried out of the Ely club meeting after he started in on why the grooming has been so dismal on that stretch of the Tomahawk. Prolly better to use the roads until they bring the groomer back down.

Nice to hear you got some good riding in!!

This sounds good. My wife and I might plan this same trip in Feb. If so I'll see if anyone else may want to hook up.
