A Canastota man is dead following a snowmobile accident in Lewis County.
State Police in Lowville say it happened at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday on snow trail C4A, south of Kraeger Road in the Town of West Turin.

The victim, 56 year-old Edward Kohles of Canastota, was traveling south when he lost control, was ejected and then struck by another snowmobile traveling in the opposite direction.
Lewis County Sheriff's Department, Constableville Ambulance and Lewis County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene.
Officials say Mr. Kohles was pronounced deceased on the scene.
State Police are continuing their investigation into the accident.

We were pulled over bye the popo around 9pm, just checking us over, the man that passed away earlier in the day went around a corner hit a patch of ice and rolled it into on coming traffic, I cannot stress enough, how icy it was in spots, definitely need to back it down on the corners,

very sad. i went up fri afternoon and bailed saturday. i was telling my wife when i got home that it was no place for inexperiance right now. i ride a 1000 c/f w/o studs and it would have been very easy to get yourself hurt. if you plan on going take the warnings seriously.....
