I know its early but want to ask before I buy.
I was going back and forth from quad to side by side and made up my mind side by side was for me. Been searching then found out they may not be legal on trails. Is this the case in the burg? Thanks Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Snowmobile.com App |

I believe the gate opening on any state trail is about 54". If your side by side is narrower than 54" you should be all set, but I think there is only one brand that meets the width for the gates and I can't remember which one it is.

I dont think thats the case. Take a look at the ATV clubs web sites and you will see all kinds of side by's. I know there is a width requirement but think that most will pass. The Can Am comander looks questionable but I know a RZR will work.

WHERE CAN I RIDE? You can ride on trails that are clearly signed and designated club for more information.for the type of vehicle that you are operating or on land where you have received written landowner permission to ride. In order to operate on state-approved trails, OHRVs cannot be over 50 inches wide, except at Jericho Mtn. State Park, which allows OHRVs up to 65 inches wide, and on some club trail systems. The local clubs are not going to add photos of illegal vehicles on their web site as advertisements for their trails.
