The best one is the one that doesn't break down. I've seen every brand towed home...and every brand doing the towing.

3k max isn't going to get you a 4stroke. I would look for a 600 Polaris or Skidoo. If your trail riding 100% I would look for a Skidoo GSX sport 500ss... Still a 600 but the carb version engine that's been around forever and reliable. The 600HO carb has all the ring problems. If you go with the SDI your going to pay a little more. For Polaris I would look for a 600 Classic. Good reliable sled with all the bells and whistles. Same with the GSX... Now if your thinking of a little off trail I would look for a Rev Renagade 600 sdi or a Switchback 600. (thinking under 3k) If you're budget was higher my recommendations would be a little different. Just be patient and find the right sled as there are a lot of over priced used sleds on the market.... I see some guys looking for $4k for a 04 rev with 7k miles

X2. Everything Fitzy said.all good choices. How the sled was stored is as important as the maintenance done to it. Buy bone stock if you can.

Cheap, fast, tons of parts available Also be careful of older ski doo's crank bearings and having to grease them come into play.
