I made a post regarding accommodations under the Where is snow thread regarding The Bay and a place to sleep. The snow at Hudson Bay is about the same as it is was a couple of weeks ago. There is more snow about 30 miles west of there at Mistatim but an easy sled ride to fine the powder which is above your knees. I would have to say about 200 sleds in the area this past week-end tearing up the fields but there are still lots of areas off the highway to run. I also understand that Swan River now has decent snow and you can ride from there to Hudson Bay and back as well on different trails. Not sure what type of rider you are but check the forum posts going back a couple of weeks and you can see pictures and that sort of thing.

Thanks for the info! were looking for good trail riding and enjoy playing a bit off trail. how is the terrain? trees, sand rock etc?
typically grooming is done down here late in the week, do they groom all week up there or similar to us? there is absolutely NO riding to be done anywhere within 400 km of here! its terrible! we hope to head somewhere up there and get some good riding in.

put on 300 miles this weekend around hudson bay and greenwater...trails were pounded out in areas, open fields were pretty much untouched! We beat the crap out of some huge open fields that had about 6-8" of soft stuff on top of a solid knee deep base. The majority of the trails are all thick forest which made for some great tight twisty trails and nice scenery. Definitely going back again this winter and for sure with the ATV's this summer

The weekend of the 10-11-12 the Treeline Motel (and I assume the other hotel) is fully booked as there is some figure skating thing in town. Not sure about the weekend after. I have a room there this weekend but as I booked it last week I can't even tell you if they are full this weekend.
